We are delighted to share with you our Impact Report 2023, as we look ahead to the coming winter, and the start of this year’s packing!

Our operations, partnerships and volunteer family have strengthened and expanded. We reached over 17,000 older and vulnerable people with the support and kindness of over 150 community partners and 450 volunteers.

The positive effects of our partnerships can be seen clearly in our work with front line service and statutory bodies across both Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. Most recently, the fantastic commitment of Hertfordshire Police and PCSO’s delivering all of our individual Warm in Winter gift bags requests, proved invaluable in reaching and engaging with those older people who sometimes slip under the radar, particularly those not currently accessing existing support and services.

In Luton, the Adult Social Care team embraced our mission to reduce loneliness and isolation, distributing 300 gifts bags and commenting, “The consistent feedback from social and health care professionals has been that, every Warm in Winter gift bag distributed, has brought a feeling of joy because it was felt by the recipient that someone remembered and cared.”

Our corporate partnerships have flourished, as we worked with and welcomed teams to our volunteer packing sessions from over 30 businesses. In addition to their time, we are extremely appreciative of their fundraising efforts, championing our work and kind donations.

We have loved meeting and chatting with so many people and delighted to hear such positive feedback about their volunteering experience with us.

"Thank you for such a fantastic time yesterday. By far one of the best organised events I have been to all year. The team were lovely and always on hand checking in with us”  Small Acts of Kindness volunteer

We successfully sourced, packed and distributed 12,000 Warm in Winter gift bags, 2,500 Bags of Kindness and wrapped over 2,500 Christmas gifts. Using our expertise in procurement and logistics, we were delighted to be asked to deliver new projects in partnership with Hertfordshire County Council, reaching vulnerable groups across the county.

Our work is only made possible by connecting and collaborating. The impact this brings can be life changing for the thousands of people we reach every year.  As an organisation, last year was an inspiring and exciting one. We’ve reviewed our operations, embracing new processes and challenges, with one thing in mind. To reduce loneliness and isolation for older people, one small act of kindness at a time.
